How some TLC will bring great results

Once having planted your seedling, following the simple instructions provided, you will want to give it some Tender Loving Care to nuture it into a thriving growth. This is not a difficult task, and will not take up too much of your time, but the rewards of seeing your seedling grow into a healthy young sapling will bring many rewards to your own soul and to the enviornment.

Like any young living organism, your sapling requires nourishment, water, sunlight, space to grow and protection from weeds and grazing animals. The nourishment is minimal, perhaps some compost when first planted, but the watering is vital as it must be watered at least once a week, or twice if no rain. Sunlight and space to grow should have been thought of when first planting your seedling. Protection from weeds should be done through the first two or three years after planting by maintaining a mulch cover around the trunk (but not touching it!) and by hand removal of weeds. Protection from animals is best obtained by erecting a fence around the outermost branches of the sapling. Your tree will silently thank you for your early care and will reward you as only a tree can do. Some of these results of OPT planting can be seen by clicking on aa photo below.
